The Cafe de la Paix & The Westview Apartments

CORK CITY CENTRE'S BEST KEPT SECRET BUT NOT ANY MORE, AS I AM ABOUT TO TELL YOU WHAT IT IS!!!

If you are looking for somewhere that can give you a great meal and somewhere to stay at reasonable rates then this is the secret that i am going to tell you about, although it will not remains a secret any more as the cat will be out the bag shortly. Rates are seasonal of course!

The apartment first i will tell you about. A total surprise as to how lovely it was and all my business associates that came to visit with me were totally blown away, as was i.

A massive lounge with an open plan kitchen and the kitchen is just, well so obviously designed by an Architect of some knowledge of what a woman wants - yes i do know open plan is not for everyone but for this person here it's just fine in fact more than fine - perfect.

Two double bedrooms one with en suit shower room, which i know all you fellas like instead of a bath. That still remains a mystery to me as i like to lye in my own dirt Lol.

Dining area small but big enough for me, my mini notebook and four chairs so that was perfect for discussions here.

Then of course the restaurant downstairs oh yes a great cafe called the Cafe de la Paix......... fabulous. Anything you want for breakfast, including smoked salmon bagels with cream cheese etc and wait for this, there is a menu in the flat so you can call down if you so wish and then 10 minutes later - its a take out, so you can carry on with your work and eat. Personally i thought it was brilliant.

I would add on the brilliant side of things that i went down to the restaurant to have a chat with the owner, Dominic Carney and i had told him that i loved French Onion Soup - and before i could say Abracadabra he brought over some onion soup with all the trimmings, done just for me. How fantastic is that?

The restaurant in itself is really a delight and nothing is too much for the staff and all is done with a smile and lots of charm. I have to say that the evening menu, well the evening menu is just fine dining although you can if you want have a hamburger with chips and salad - something you really have to try for yourself - makes most i have tried worldwide fade into insignificance.

Absolutely can't fault a thing and i am being totally honest and the view, oh my god the view, well i am looking at it now from where i am sitting. The River Lee. Not swirling today fairly calm. Hope this means it isn't going to rain - its a county that's an absolute must for bringing an umbrella with you. I just loved this apartment and the Cafe and to recommend it this highly, well i can promise all i have said is spot on. I did of course forget one other thing, the cable TV - sky don't you just love it.

Cafe de la Prix and the Westview Apartments - I just loved it here and i know you will too.

A more than happy visitor to Cork City Centre, Ireland.
